Accountant - Bookkeeper

The accountant/bookkeeper supports the accounting department and operational teams in ensuring accuracy in reporting financial information in a timely and accurate manner. The bookkeeper will create documentation that will allow for the efficient “flow” of information within the accounting department.

Responsibilities

> Greet customers (internal & external) with a positive, enthusiastic and friendly attitude and try to assist in any way possible

> Answer incoming emails and electronic requests in a timely manner

> Accounts Receivable will encompass the accurate posting and classification of all receivable transactions, client invoicing, and maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of accounting transactions

> General Ledger maintenance

> Create/Prepare monthly financial reports for management

> Assist in the day/month end close

> Assist in the management of expense reports

> Track and calculate commissions for sales force

> Responsible for the collection of non-secured delinquent accounts by initiating telephone calls to all levels of customer’s organization. Setting up financial relationships with customers, evaluating and conveying information regarding customer’s business to appropriate teams and management personnel, researching customer concerns and issues

> Basic administrative duties

> Follow any directives from Sr Accountant and VP of Finance

Qualifications & Requirements

> Degree in Accounting or Equivalent Experience required.

> Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

> Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

> Experience with Sage 300 software preferred

> Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow-up and tracking skills

> Self-motivated and professionally accountable; Ability to work independently and multi-task

> Ability to work with variable deadlines

> Ability to seek improvement and create an environment of idea sharing and creative problem solving

> Strong customer service skills and abilities

> Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills

> Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization

> Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices

> Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness
